Introduction
鼎，古代原是饪食器，后来变为统治阶级政治权利的重要象征，视为镇国之宝和传国之宝，也是“明贵贱，别上下”等级制的标志。史载，天子九鼎，诸侯七鼎，卿大夫五鼎，士三鼎或一鼎。鼎，是中国古代最重要的一种礼器。在王墓出土了一套鼎，共九件，这套鼎又名升鼎，这九个鼎大小不一，依次缩小。

本图是最大的首鼎，在这件首鼎上刻有长达469字的铭文，记述了中山国讨伐燕国，开辟疆土的事件。这是我国目前所发现的刻铭最长的一件战国器物，弥足珍贵。九鼎的使用，反映出中山国政治制度已经汉化，采用了中原大国的礼制，同也有力地证明中山国已跻身于强国之列。
This picture is the largest tripod, inscribed on it is 469 words long, describing the events of Zhongshan China's crusade against Yan State and its opening up of territory. This is the longest inscription of Warring States artifacts found in China, which is very precious. The use of Jiuding reflects that the political system of Zhongshan State has been sinicized and adopted the etiquette of a great power in the Central Plains. It also proves that Zhongshan State has become one of the powerful countries.
